Archiving Notes

Archiving tucks a note out of sight without deleting it; your note is still safely stored in your book. It's perfect for ideas you've already used, old drafts, or notes you might want to reference later but don't need cluttering your workspace.

How to Archive

Right-click (or Ctrl+click on Mac) a note and choose Archive. You can also archive multiple notes at once by selecting them with Cmd+click (Mac) or Ctrl+click (Windows/Linux) to pick individual notes, or Shift+click to select a range. Then choose Archive from the right-click menu.

Note: Archiving is completely reversible — you can bring any archived note back at any time. When in doubt, archive instead of deleting.

Viewing Archived Notes

Archived notes are hidden by default. To see them, click the gear (cog-shaped) icon in the top-right corner of the toolbar above your notes and check the Show Archived option. Archived notes appear alongside your other notes but slightly faded so you can tell them apart.

This only affects the folder you're in; your other folders won't change.

Restoring a Note

To bring an archived note back, first turn on Show Archived in the gear menu. Then right-click the archived note and choose Unarchive. The note returns to your active notes immediately.
