Character Arc Block
Displays a compact version of a character's fortune curve (a visual chart showing how a character's circumstances rise and fall through the story) directly on their character sheet. The arc visualizes how a character's circumstances rise and fall across key story moments, with diamond-shaped turning points (called keyframes) marking each shift.
Character arcs are created and managed on the Arcs page. For a full guide to fortune curves, turning points, and modifiers, see Character Arcs.
Two View Modes
The block offers two ways to view a character's arc:
- Curve View: A fortune curve with turning point diamonds and labels. This is the default view.
- List View: Turning points listed with icons showing whether fortune is rising or falling, along with descriptions. Useful when you want a quick text summary of the arc.
Switch between views using the Curve/List toggle in the top-right corner. Penpoint remembers which view you picked, even after you close the app.
Navigating to Full Arc
Click any turning point diamond or the curve itself to jump directly to that character's full arc view on the Arcs page. From there you can edit turning points, adjust fortune modifiers, and compare arcs between characters.
Tip: If a character doesn't have an arc yet, the block shows an empty state. In Edit mode (as opposed to View mode, which is for reading only), a button appears to navigate to the Arcs page where you can create one.
Add and configure the Character Arc Block in Settings > Character Sheet Setup. You can only have one Character Arc section per character sheet.
