Sort Methods

Alphabetical

Sorts items by name. Choose A to Z or Z to A. The default sorting method for finding items by name quickly.

Date Created

Sorts items by when they were created. Choose Oldest first or Newest first to put your most recently created items at the top.

Useful for tracking what you added recently or finding items created early in your project.

Importance

Sorts items by importance level. Most important first shows Primary items, then Secondary, then Background. Choose Least important first to see background items at the top. Switching to Importance from another method starts with Most important first.

Perfect for keeping plot-critical items at the top of your list for quick access during writing sessions.

Sort Persistence

Your sort preferences are saved automatically. When you return to the Items page, Penpoint restores both your sort method and direction exactly as you left them.
